Steps to keep you and your home protected

What steps do we take to keep your home and our community safe?

We’re hearing about the new Coronavirus or COVID-19 everywhere, so, we wanted to share with you our current and on-going measures to combat the spread of any viruses or germs. Also steps you can take to keep your home protected. As a whole, we should all take regular precautions, use common sense, and communicate to help protect ourselves and our families from any illness, including COVID-19.

Before Appointments:

First and foremost, our technicians have been encouraged to utilize paid sick-time to stay home if they are feeling ill. All of our technicians carry disinfectant and sanitizer to be used in homes, trucks, before and after appointments. They are also equipped with personal protective equipment like gloves, masks, and protective eyewear for most any occasion. Conversely, if you or a family member is home sick, and you think our technician might be exposed to the person who is ill, please contact our office to reschedule your appointment. If one of our staff enters a home and feels that they are going to be exposed to whatever is floating around the home, they do have the right to reschedule.

During Appointments:

As always, a friendly greeting and open discussion are encouraged upon arrival, but if you would like to forego a handshake, by all means do so. And once again, if someone is sick in the home, please keep them in an area where they will not be in close proximity with our technician or reschedule the appointment. Our technicians will continue to use shoe covers, drop cloths as needed, and clean their work areas upon completion.

What can you do to protect your home?

Proper and regular cleaning of a home is paramount to promoting good air quality and helping to prevent the fostering of unwanted germs and bacteria. Continuous air moving through your home will promote cleaner air because it will pass whatever filtration system is present. An air filter is going to trap larger particulates while keeping your HVAC system clean and operating. But to kill allergens, bacteria, and germs you will need an air purification system. We have been using ducted ultra-violet air purifiers that are designed to actively neutralize or eliminate bacteria, viruses, mold and odors. Although testing has not been available to confirm the effectiveness at reducing COVID-19 specifically, it is proven to reduce similar viruses. Other passive filters, like electronic air cleaners can also kill viruses as they are pulled through the system. We are also able to provide a rapid duct treatment that can be performed during a duct cleaning, installation, or as a stand-alone visit. It will sanitize ducts and the air in the home during its operation.

We all need to continue abiding by basic hygiene and cleaning practices, keeping open and honest communication with one another and take the necessary, fundamental measures to ensure we all stay as healthy as possible. Thank you for continuing to entrust us with your family’s home comfort needs. Contact us anytime to learn more about our policies, procedures, or services.
