My wife and I moved into our new house on Main Street Saturday. Monday night some boiler sensors went out on our radiators. Long story short our whole house started to leak from basement to 3rd floor. Their emergency services were ready to take our call at 9:30 at night. Jason walked us through how to shut off the boiler and step by step to keep further damage from happening.Fast forward to next morning less than 12 hours after the initial call took place Zimmerman’s had a technician in route to come take a look. Justin greeted us with a friendly smile and was master class in knowledge of our boiler and issues taking place. After a short time he discovered the reason for our problems. Soon enough we had a quote to fix our boiler.Not ready to jump ship and push our emergency to another day he asked if he could fix the boiler now. Justin worked for 2-3 hours until the boiler was up and running. Testing it multiple times to ensure it was functioning properly.Did I mention this all went down on 12/22 and 12/23 right before Christmas. I can’t thank Zimmerman’s enough for saving our holiday season and making us feel safe in our new home!
We highly recommend Zimmerman Plumbing and Heating in Mechanicsburg. We use them for all our heating & cooling needs. We got a new oil furnace several years ago. They had 3-4 levels of pricing. They’re not cheap, but their workmanship and Service is top-notch – the best I’ve ever come across in all my years. We have met Earnie Zimmerman personally. His guys are professional, super nice and trustworthy. We also used them for air conditioning splits in our house a few years ago- can’t recommend them enough.

Highly recommend!! They sent a plumber to my house for a sewer back-up in less than two hours of my call when they opened on Monday morning even though I was a new customer. I got a quote for a gas line to a new gas stove on Friday and some time over the weekend, we had a back up of water from a floor drain into our basement. Bill was thorough, helpful and knowledgeable and he and a second guy worked really hard to resolve the problem. I am so grateful for their service. They also installed the new gas line when they were done with the sewer problem. I’m a customer for life!
We recently had a very disappointing experience with the service company assigned by our home warranty provider. Upon arrival, the technician insisted our air conditioning unit had not been cleaned and refused to proceed with service until it was. They even offered to clean it themselves for $350 on the spot.Since we had EZimmerman clean the unit back in May, we immediately contacted them to clarify the situation. They responded with exceptional professionalism and understanding, and within two hours, they sent a technician to reservice the unit. As we expected, the unit was not as dirty as the other company had claimed. Nevertheless, EZimmerman recleaned it thoroughly, treating us with the same courtesy and expertise we’ve come to appreciate from their team. I recently had a mini split system installed by Zimmerman’s and was very satisfied with the service I received. The communication was excellent and they thoroughly prepared for and executed the job. The most common type of water heaters are storage tank water heaters and are typically either electric or gas-fueled. Most water heater sizes are around 40, 50, or 80 gallons. A 50-gallon water heater is fairly standard. But with a family of 5 or more and/or high water heating demands like a jacuzzi tub, going with a larger capacity will be best. Due to energy standards, electric water heaters larger than 55 gallons are required to meet a specific Energy Factor (EF) rating and will most likely need to be a heat pump water heater, fortunately, these are very efficient.
Gas fueled water heaters tend to have a much better First Hour Rating (FHR) and recovery rate to provide better performance. Where often a 50-gallon gas water heater will perform more closely to that of an 80-gallon electric and will satisfy the needs of most typical households.
Just like all the appliances in your home, a garbage disposal needs regular maintenance. An easy way to clean it and have it smelling fresh is to run cold water into it, turn it on and put in a whole lemon cut in half along with a bunch of ice cubes. Another good cleaning method is to use a tray of frozen vinegar cubes with cold water to run through the system. Do not use chemicals in the garbage disposal, these will damage the system.
